Directorate of Secondary Education, Chania - Greece
The Directorate of Secondary Education in Chania (DSEC) is a public body educational organization, under the Greek Ministry of Education. It is responsible for the administration and supervision of all secondary education schools, both public and private, in the Prefecture of Chania, one of the four prefectures of the region of Crete, Greece.
To serve its mission DSEC is organizing training events and workshops for teachers, career days, festivals, conferences and various educational events for teachers, students, parents and the general public. DSEC staff has vast experience in coordinating and implementing educational projects and organizing teacher training and student training activities and educational events. DSEC staff has also experience in authoring school text books and producing educational material for onsite and online training, for all levels of secondary and post-secondary education, VET and adult education. DSEC is committed to improving the quality of education and promoting innovative, experiential and creative teaching methods and has allocated human resources to support the following departments and education experts:
- European Programs Department provides information and guidance to schools wishing to participate in EU programs.
- Informatics and ICT Department provides technical support and training for the educational community.
- Physical Education Department organizes school games, provides training for Physical Education teachers and conducts workshops for students promoting physical activity, healthy eating, bullying prevention and overall health promotion.
- Teacher Advisors; Coordinator of School Activities; Career Counsellors; Apprenticeship Coordinators.
